Melinda Vyvyan, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #99496

I specialize in PTSD, trauma treatments in areas such as abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, and other toxic stress relationships or experiences. I also help people understand and manage depression, anger and anxiety while cultivating self-compassion.

Working with couples and families includes clarifying ones needs, facilitate growth and change, and embrace their unique differences. I use an integrative approach rooted in relational, attachment modalities, focusing on how we relate to others and ourselves through compassion and vulnerability. Through EMDR and Somatic awareness we can resolve PTSD and other negative experiences, and through cognitive and mindfulness we can unlock the mind's power to heal.

I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University with an emphasis in mindfulness practices. I am also trained in Attachment Focused EMDR, and TRM (Trauma Resiliency Model), which is a biological Model focused on balancing of the nervous system so one can experience a sense of continued well-being.

I have extensive experience working with children with Autism, using Applied Behavioral Analysis. Based on these experiences with children and their extended families, I recognized the other family members own needs for additional emotional support, and therefore provide sibling or family therapy.
